The Black Artisan Trust
The Black Artisan Trust is a public benefit organization aimed at assisting young aspiring black artisans to obtain the necessary training and qualifications to become economically active as a qualified and registered artisan.

- Primary beneficiaries are African, Coloured or Indian skilled and semi-skilled South African born artisans generating revenue directly or indirectly for SED Partner businesses.
- 80% of distributable funds are allocated towards annual beneficiary cash bonuses and loyalty benefits
- 20% of distributable funds are allocated towards a Bursary Scheme to allow young unemployed South African youth to study any artisan trade in South Africa
- Preference given to family members of primary beneficiaries
- Gross Earnings of beneficiaries must be below R240 000 per annum
To qualify for an artisan bursary
from the Black Artisan Trust:
proudly South African by birth;aged 21 to 35;
be an african, coloured or indian natural person;
have a valid matric certificate; and
have no criminal record.
