The Black Artisan Trust

The Black Artisan Trust is a public benefit organization aimed at assisting young aspiring black artisans to obtain the necessary training and qualifications to become economically active as a qualified and registered artisan.

Primary beneficiaries are African, Coloured or Indian skilled and semi-skilled South African born artisans generating revenue directly or indirectly for SED Partner businesses.
80% of distributable funds are allocated towards annual beneficiary cash bonuses and loyalty benefits
20% of distributable funds are allocated towards a Bursary Scheme to allow young unemployed South African youth to study any artisan trade in South Africa
Preference given to family members of primary beneficiaries
Gross Earnings of beneficiaries must be below R240 000 per annum

To qualify for an artisan bursary
from the Black Artisan Trust:

proudly South African by birth;
aged 21 to 35;
be an african, coloured or indian natural person;
have a valid matric certificate; and
have no criminal record.
